Veteran Enterprise, LLC d/b/a Atlas.vet (“Atlas”, “we”, “us”, or “ours”) is committed to protecting your privacy.  By visiting Atlas.vet (“the Site”) and submitting personal information (“Personal Information”) you acknowledge and accept the practices and policies outlined in this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”).

This Privacy Policy explains in general terms how we collect and use Personal Information (as defined below) and certain other information that we collect from you at the Site. If you have questions, concerns, or complaints regarding our privacy statement or practices, please contact us at

“Personal Information” is any information that is identifiable with you, including names, addresses, email addresses, or phone numbers, as well as other non-public information that is associated with the foregoing.

 

This Site is only for use of adults 18 years or older.

1. Information You Provide


When you voluntarily fill out surveys, employer or educator ratings, registration forms, or provide us with other Personal Information at the Site, we collect and process that information in accordance with this Policy. From time to time we change our offerings and features. As a result, the options you have to provide us with Personal Information may also change. Here are examples of situations where you have the opportunity to actively provide us with Personal Information; creating an account, submitting an employer or educator review, contacting our support team.

The Personal Information we collect for you may vary depending on how you interact with the Site. For example, to create an account we may ask only for an email address and password. Depending on your use of the Site, you may provide other information, including job history, address, contact information, or phone number. For example, for our employer and educator ratings you may be required to provide information such as job title and education level, and you may be invited to provide optional information such as demographic information. When you create an account on Atlas, we ask you to include other Personal Information you provide.  You have the ability to edit any Personal Information in your account, deactivate your account, or request that your User Profile be deleted by sending an email to hello@atlas.vet.

 

Any credit card information you enter on the Site in connection with a purchase of one of our products or services is sent directly from your browser to the third-party service provider we use to manage credit card processing and we do not store it on our servers. The service provider is not permitted to use the information you provide except for the sole purposes of credit card processing on our behalf.

2. Information Collected Automatically


When you use our Site and services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type or the domain from which you are visiting, the web-pages you visit, the search terms you use, and any advertisements on which you click.

As is common practice with almost all professional websites this site uses cookies, which are tiny files that are downloaded to your computer, to improve your experience.

We use cookies for a variety of reasons. You can prevent the setting of cookies by adjusting the settings on your browser. Be aware that disabling cookies will affect the functionality of this and many other websites that you visit. Disabling cookies will usually result in also disabling certain functionality and features of this site. 

3. Account Related Cookies

‍If you create an account with us then we will use cookies for the management of the signup process and general administration. These cookies will usually be deleted when you log out however in some cases they may remain afterwards to remember your site preferences when logged out.

We use cookies when you are logged in so that we can remember this fact. This prevents you from having to log in every single time you visit a new page. These cookies are typically removed or cleared when you log out to ensure that you can only access restricted features and areas when logged in.

This site uses Google Analytics which is one of the most widespread and trusted analytics solutions on the web for helping us to understand how you use the site and ways that we can improve your experience. Other third party analytics may be used to track and measure usage of this site so that we can continue to produce engaging content and services. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the site or pages you visit which helps us to understand how we can improve the site for you.

We also use social media buttons and/or plugins on this site that allow you to connect with your social network in various ways. For these to work the social media sites may set cookies through our site which may be used to enhance your profile on their site or contribute to the data they hold for various purposes outlined in their respective privacy policies.

We may also automatically record certain information from your device by using various types of technology.  This automatically collected information may include your IP address or other device address or ID, web browser and/or device type, the web pages or sites that you visit just before or just after you use the Site, the pages or other content you view or otherwise interact with on the Site, and the dates and times that you visit, access, or use the Site. 7. Third Party Websites


‍Users can link other website to their account, such as social networking sites (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).  Links to a website are not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third party. We do not exercise control over third party websites. These other websites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit Personal Information from you. Other sites follow different rules regarding the use or disclosure of the Personal Information you submit to them. We are not responsible for the content, privacy and security practices, and policies of third-party sites or services to which links or access are provided through the Site. We encourage you to read the privacy policies or statements of the other websites you visit.

8. How We Use the Information We Collect

Atlas is committed to protecting your privacy. As such, we will not give, rent, lend, or sell your individual information unless you ask or authorize us to do so. We also will not disclose any personally identifiable information about our individual users except as described in this Policy.


One of the purposes of the Site is to aggregate and share employment-related and educator-related information with other Users. Therefore, you should assume that any information (excluding any personally identifiable information) that you submit will be anonymized, aggregated, and made available to other Users of the Site and services. We may use the information we collect to provide you with personalized content, services offered by Atlas, as well as promotional content and services.  We may use the information we collect to determine relevant search results and provide you with recommended jobs, employers or educators, or to reach out to you about jobs, employers or educators you may be interested in.

 

Any personal information you share publicly through our Site may be indexed through third party search engines, such as Google or Bing. We do not control the practices of third party search engines, and they may use caches containing your information, including any outdated information. You acknowledge that personal information that you submit when you participate in an opinion survey or user review, a blog or any online message board that we provide through our Site or Services may be available, via the Internet, around the world. We cannot prevent the use (or misuse) of such personal information by others, nor can we ensure it is deleted if you later ask us to delete your personal information as provided for in this Policy.


We may use the information we collect to customize and improve features, performance and support of the site, to provide relevant advertising, including interest-based advertising from us and third parties, to share your saved account with employers, to analyze use of and improve the Site, to create aggregate and statistical data that does not identify you individually and that we can commercialize, and for other purposes that you separately authorize as you interact with the Site.

9. Disclosure of Personal Information

Except as otherwise stated in this Policy, we do not disclose to or share your Personal Information with third parties, unless you ask or authorize us to do so.

We may provide your Personal Information to third party service providers and suppliers who work on behalf of or with us to provide you with some of the services and features, and to help us communicate with our Users. However, these service providers and suppliers do not have any independent right to use this information except to help us provide our services.

In the event Atlas goes through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale or all or a portion of its assets, your Personal Information will likely be among the assets transferred. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Atlas or its assets may continue to use your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

We may (and you authorize us to) disclose information we have collected from and about you, including Personal Information, if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants served on us; (b) to enforce our Global Terms and Conditions -User Agreement  and Privacy Policy; or (c) to protect and defend the rights or property of us, Users of our Site or services, or third parties.

When we collect any information that does not identify you as a specific natural person (“Non-Personal Information”), we are permitted to use and disclose this information for any purpose, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Policy, except where we are required to do so otherwise by applicable law.

10. Choices Regarding Personal Information


We may send you service-related announcements when we believe it is necessary to do so. Generally, you may opt out of these announcements by contacting us at hello@atlas.vet.

You can review and change certain of your Personal Information by logging into the Site and visiting your account profile page. After you submit an employer or educator rating and review, you will be unable to change or edit the information you have provided through the Site. You can request changes to or the deletion of your company rating and review by submitting a request to us in writing at hello@atlas.vet. To edit or delete a company rating and review, there must be an account and email address associated with the company rating, and you must send the request from the email address we have on file.

To request removal of any or all Personal Information, please submit your request to us in writing at hello@atlas.vet. We will attempt to fulfill your request within 30 days. Atlas will have no liability whatsoever for any deletion of your data.  We will evaluate requests on a case-by-case basis, and when we delete Personal Information that we have collected from or about you, it will be deleted from our active databases but may remain in our archives. We cannot delete certain of your Personal Information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.


If you delete any user content from the Site (for example, a company rating and review or questions in our community), copies of your user content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other Site users.

11. How Long We Store Your Personal Information


Unless requested by you to delete, we retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Site to you and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. This is also the case for anyone that we share your personal information with and who carries out services on our behalf. We may also retain aggregate information beyond this time for research purposes and to help us develop and improve our services. You cannot be identified from aggregate information retained or stored for these purposes.

12. Data Security


We have put in place reasonable and appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Additionally, we store information you provide us on our secure servers.


Only those authorized employees, contractors, and agents who have a need to know Personal Information in connection with the performance of their services are allowed to access this information. In addition, these individuals and or entities are required to be bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to disciplinary actions, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet their confidentiality obligations. Unfortunately, the transmission of information over the Internet is not completely secure. Any transmission of Personal Information is at your own risk. In the unlikely event that we suffer a breach of our security systems and an individual or entity gains unauthorized access to any Personal Information stored on our servers, we will immediately investigate such security breach, and will provide prompt notice to any individual whose Personal Information was affected.

13. Ongoing Privacy Policy Updates

We post any changes we make to our Policy on this page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users’ Personal Information, we will notify you through a notice on the Site home page. If we make a change that we believe materially reduces your rights or increases your responsibility, we will notify you by email, sent to the email address specified in your account. The date the Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for periodically visiting our Site and this Policy to check for any changes.
